Botswana - an independent African country since 1966 is a unique democratic and economic success story of the African continent. It has a small population of about 1.8 million people and large pristine wilderness areas.
Botswana is a landlocked country bordering South Africa, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The country is well known for exemplary conservation efforts. It is one of the last remaining places on the planet where one can see the large herds of African mammals. Botswana is part of the great Kalahari Desert. Most of the area covers a semi-desert - a thirst land without any surface water, except the famous Okavango Delta - the largest and probably the most beautiful wildlife oasis of Africa.

One of the most beautiful (many think the most beautiful) inland deltas in the world. It is a wildlife paradise with a variety of bird species, great African mammals and wetland landscapes.
You can visit and experience this fascinating area in several ways: on walking safaris, dug-out canoes and boats. We can collect you from any hotel or lodge in Maun and drive you to a boat station.
From there you will be taken by a power-boat and after three hours you will reach the famous Chief's Island in the middle of the Okavango Delta.
For 3 days you will be accompanied by a guide taking you on game walks and sharing with you all the secrets of the Delta.
This is part of the extensive Okavango Delta. A huge variety of mammals, bird species and reptiles have adapted to this swamp conditions.
We do game drives twice a day in the morning and in the late afternoon. Moremi is arguably one of the finest and most beautiful game reserves in Africa - a wonder world of nature as
it always has been, and hopefully remains for the future generations.
During the dry season it is a place like nowhere else in the entire world, especially along the Chobe River - thousands of elephants gather accompanied by herds of buffaloes,
zebras, antelopes, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles and predators - an incredible spectacle of wildlife. We do game drives in the morning. Afternoon is reserved for
sundown's boat cruise on the famous Chobe River.
This offers a safari experience of a life-time - wonderful riverine landscape and high concentration of animals along the river. Chobe River is also the richest birding area of Botswana.
This area is a combination of dry pans, thick bush and flat grasslands. During the wet season many animals migrate to this park and create a spectacular concentration
of game: springbok, gemsbok, zebra, elephant, giraffe, wildebeest, impala, kudu and most of the predators, and many interesting species of birds. Springboks congregate in
huge herds in the Nxai Pan area. Interestingly, it is the only place where you can see springbok and impala together.
Savuti is an area in the Chobe National Park famous for numerous prides of lions, many hyaenas and huge elephant bulls. Many other species migrate there during
the rainy season in great numbers like zebra and wildebeest. The Savuti is a remote area and the roads can be very sandy or muddy.
Africa Ecco will take you to Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR) where you can experience the land which is covered with bush and grasses over the sand dunes,
and areas of larger trees. This is the chance for you to see the springbok, gemsbok and black eared fox. Come and experience the river valleys which are fossilized with salt pans.
